The UK's only grade 1 listed pier. It's quite spartan but there's something quite majestic about it. So the story goes, it was constructed from the left over iron from Brunel's railway to the west coast. There's not much 'going on' on the pier and long gone are the days when it was used as a mooring, but its grandeur of design, which is a monument to it's age, stays with you long after you have visited.
It was late afternoon / early evening when I paid a visit and the sun was straight down the barrel as I was trying to get a picture along the pier. But then came along an obliging cloud and a few minutes when I could get the shot.
